Chronic pain coaching.

Imagine feeling supported as you reset your health and recover from chronic symptoms.

Chronic pain isn’t always caused by damage. It’s often a learned protective response generated by the brain.

Modern neuroscience shows that when this is addressed directly, chronic pain can be fully resolved - not just managed.

Even if you’ve been told this ”there is no cure,” recovery from chronic symptoms is possible.

I work as part of the international coaching team at YourBreakAwake. As your guide and mentor, I use a structured, neuroscience-based approach to help retrain the brain and nervous system out of pain.

The process is actually very simple, but not always easy! Which is why having support and compassion from an expertly trained coach who has themselves recovered, can make all the difference.

I would love to work with you as you discover how good your body and mind can feel once you focus on them with intention, compassion and a clear plan.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • No. Chronic pain is real pain. And all pain is created by the brain. This approach explains why pain continues and how to change the underlying process.

  • Many people do. Pain science shows that scans and diagnoses don’t always correlate with pain levels. This work doesn’t deny medical findings - it works with how the nervous system responds to them.

  • No. This is a structured, neuroscience-based process that works directly with the nervous system and learned pain pathways. Understanding matters, and so does practice.

  • There’s no single timeline. Some people notice shifts quickly; for others it’s more gradual. The focus is not rushing, but creating the foundations for lasting change.

  • Because the process is simple, but not always easy. Having a guide who understands the science and has walked the path themselves can make the work feel safer, clearer, and more effective.

  • Collaborative, warm and effective. I’m here to guide you on this part of your journey, mirror back what I’m hearing and helping illuminate the path forwards.

This is for you if:

  • You’re not willing to accept that this is “you” for life.

  • You’ve been told your tests are “normal”, yet your symptoms are very real and negatively affecting your life.

  • You suspect or know you are neurodivergent and wonder what role this plays in your symptoms.

  • You long to see your body as your friend rather than your enemy.

  • You’re tired of being advised to manage, cope, or pace forever, and sense there must be another way.

  • You have difficulty relaxing and sometimes feel anxious or that you’re constantly running on adrenaline.

  • You’ve had an injury or surgery but are still experiencing pain several months or years later.

  • You recognise that your symptoms may be coming from a nervous system stuck in protection, rather than ongoing damage.

  • You’ve had enough of endless information and want to follow a clear, structured process with guidance.

  • You’re ready to approach recovery with curiosity and self-compassion, even when it feels unfamiliar or challenging.

Alice has been an instrumental part of my recovery from chronic pain and overall wellness journey.

I connected with Alice when my do-it-yourself method only got me so far. Alice patiently guided me through a path of self-discovery and provided me with safe, kind and gentle guidance to discover the answers I already knew and to build my confidence in managing whatever comes my way.

I’ve finally learned that wellness happens not by doing and earning, but by living and being in the moments we are fortunate to have. That has changed everything for me. Thank you, Alice!

  • Jenny, UK

I’ve been working with Alice for 8 weeks and I can say that the sessions have made a considerable difference to my life. I’ve been going through a difficult time for a year and the experience has thrown up a lot of negative emotions like anger and self pity. Sleep was also becoming an issue.

The exercises Alice has taught me have transformed my breathing problems and helped me control my anger.

  • Michelle, England

All of our sessions seem to end on a positive note. I now feel so much more able to deal with what life is throwing at me as I have a new range of strategies at my disposal.

Journalling to acknowledge my feelings in a safe way has been particularly helpful.

I can’t thank Alice enough for working with me.

  • CB, Edinburgh

“After a year of working online with Alice, I have significantly built up my strength and mobility due to her skills at working one to one and carefully going at my pace. At 72, I am delighted with the change in how my body can now move.”

  • Bernadette, Leeds

“I started work with Alice following recovery from debilitating back problems. I needed help to return to regular exercise and get out of pain.

In a short time she built up my awareness and confidence. She is a real pleasure to work with and I heartily recommend her.”

  • Bridget, 74

"One to one Zoom sessions with Alice have been a real help to me over the past few months. She has been encouraging and caring, always responsive to my needs. I am in much less pain than when I started."

  • Cathy, 72

“Alice has the gift of starting her coaching right where you are, with a blend of encouragement, perceptiveness and clear guidance.”

  • Nancy D, USA

Working with Alice brought me a much deeper understanding of doing Journal Speak than I had before. Not just the mechanics, but the emotional courage it asks of you. Her breadth of expertise made me feel completely at ease, knowing I was in the right hands and could truly surrender to the process rather than trying to manage it. She infused so much humanity and empathy into our time together, creating a space where I felt genuinely safe to meet myself in the places I'd been avoiding.

At several key moments, the distinctions she offered helped me catch my own perfectionistic tendencies in real time, the subtle ways I was still trying to "do it right" instead of letting the work move through me. That awareness alone has been a profound gift. I had the sense that Alice wasn't just guiding me through a method but was genuinely invested in my healing as a whole person, and that care made it possible for me to go deeper.

I'll be forever grateful for the time we spent together, and I know its impacts will continue to reverberate through my life. My chronic pain has already begun to shift in the short few months I've been doing this work.
